Reel Kids
Nurturing young talent, properly.

Reel Kids Event is specifically designed to introduce young actors to the industry.

We focus on audition techniques, improvisation games and building confidence to ensure they are prepared to meeting agents and prepare for future work opportunities.

Who we are

We have always focused on supporting adult acting careers, and have had great success with it. But we realised that support for child actors is just as important – and that’s why we’ve started Reel Kids. Our tailored children’s programme focuses on developing acting skills, nurturing unique talents and building confidence amongst children.

Reel Kids is ideal for children and their parents who are keen to perform in front of acting agents and gain representation to potentially kickstart an exciting acting career!

The Process

We focus on audition techniques, improvisation games and building confidence to ensure they are prepared to meeting agents and prepare for future work opportunities.

Sessions will be led by Alex Fidelski, an experienced youth acting coach who has taught Scott Haran (from CBBC’s Wizards & Aliens), Billy Unger (from Disney’s Lab Rats and Crank 2) and Suraj Rattu (from BAFTA nominated film X+Y).

Reel Kids: Day 1

Induction to the course, with warm-ups and improvisation games to get the children comfortable and ready for the course. Scripts will be provided to parents prior to the start of the course. Children will then be divided into groups, and rehearsals begin.

Reel Kids: Day 2

The children will receive audition training, improvisation sessions and rehearsals will continue. The children will also have their professional headshots taken on this day, as well as group shots which they will receive at the end of the course.

Reel Kids: Day 3

The day will begin with improvisation sessions and rehearsal, before a full mock run of the performance after lunch. In the afternoon, parents and acting agents are invited to watch the final performances by the children.

FAQs

The suitable age range for students looking to attend this course is 6 – 12.

We will provide all students with a duologue of short scenes, which will last for approximately 2-3 minutes each. Scripts will vary in content, and our scriptwriters are constantly developing new scripts for students.

All of our staff working with the children are cleared for working with children through the Government’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The total safety and protection of our students is very important to us.

All the scenes performed on the final day by our students will be filmed using professional cameras. The final performance will be available for parents to purchase on DVD following the showcase.

All students will receive digital copies of two professional headshots, one full body shot and one group shot for free as part of the Reel Kids package. Additional shots of each student can be purchased separately, directly from the photographer.

Our Reel Scene Event courses for adults has seen all of our actors securing agents, with many going on to gain successful acting roles. We started Reel Kids following a demand for child actors and have been approached by industry professionals in the past to host and train acting events for children. We are therefore acutely aware of the demands of the industry, and are well placed to spur your child’s acting career.

We want to make sure they receive the right support, advice, confidence, talent nurturing and insight into acting to encourage their success.
