David Schaal is an Anglo-American actor born on 27 May 1963 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who has built a sustained career in British film and television since the early 1990s. After completing training at Rose Bruford College he entered the industry and landed notable roles including Glynn “Taffy” in the UK sitcom The Office and Terry Cartwright (Jay’s father) in The Inbetweeners – both high-visibility comedy credits. 

His screen credits extend across drama, comedy, genre TV, film and voice work. In television he appears in series such as Hustle, The IT Crowd, Doc Martin, EastEnders and many others, showing significant range.

On film he has credits in titles such as Kidulthood, Mr Nobody, Down Terrace and others, which demonstrates capability in both mainstream and smaller scale productions.
