Where Is It Held?

The 6-Day Intensive takes place at our Central London studio (Pimlico).
Each day is structured by our in-house team to ensure genuine progression — from technique and scene work to industry insight and showreel shoots.

The Reel Scene is a fully integrated acting school, production company, and talent agency, meaning your training connects directly to how the business actually works. Our 6-Day Intensive puts you in front of working actors, film directors, casting directors, agents, and producers - the people who cast, hire, and make decisions every day.

You'll train the way professionals train:

Our tutors include BAFTA-winning filmmakers, network-TV directors, and respected screen actors such as David Schaal, Kevin McNally, Jason Barnett and more. Because they're active in film and television, your training stays current, relevant, and aligned with what casting directors expect.

As part of The Reel Scene community, you'll gain access to networking nights, private screenings, red-carpet premieres, alumni events, and festival outings. Our actors have joined us at events for Gladiator 2, Mission Impossible, Smile 2, Transformers, and at major festivals including Cannes. (Invites vary depending on dates, but our community always gets opportunities first.)

And unlike most schools, we're connected to real work.

Our production arm, RS Productions, casts directly from our students and alumni in short films and feature films. Over 85% of the cast in recent features such as The Bystanders and It's The Blackness were trained at The Reel Scene - working alongside recognised talent like Asa Butterfield, Rob Sheehan, Russell Tovey, and Kevin McNally.

Our actors aren't the only ones progressing - our filmmakers go on to write, direct, produce, and crew on professional productions, with several alumni now shooting shorts and features that cast Reel Scene actors.

Many students are also invited to meet our in-house agency, RS Talent, and have gone on to book work with Netflix, BBC, Disney+, Paramount, Amazon, commercials, and UK network TV.

Day 1 - Foundations, Improv & Industry Prep
Start the week by meeting your group, your coaches, and setting the tone for the intensive.
You'll jump straight into:

• Course introduction & expectations
• Improvisation drills to loosen up, build connection within the group and sharpen instincts (vital for auditions and on-set adjustments)
• Script assignments & partner pairings
• Professional development session with an industry producer/agent

Day 2 - Audition Technique & Professional Headshots
A full day focused on how casting actually works.

You'll cover:

• Working with a UK casting director
• Audition technique for film & TV
• Understanding breakdowns, briefs & expectations
• Headshot photoshoot with a professional photographer
• Practical, hands-on casting exercises

Day 3 - Mock Casting + Scene Study
A split day designed to test and build your versatility.

You'll work through:

• TV & commercial mock casting session
• Cold reads and quick-turnaround briefs
• How to adapt under real audition pressures
• Afternoon scene study with a working film/TV actor

Day 4 - Drama Scene Shoot
Your first on-camera film day with a professional crew.

You'll cover:

• Character prep & wardrobe for screen
• Working with a director on emotional beats
• Hitting marks, continuity, pacing
• Full cinematic shoot of your dramatic scene

Day 5 - Comedy Workshop & Rehearsal
Shift gears into comedy performance.

You'll focus on:

• Comedy timing, rhythm & delivery
• Physical choices and character dynamics
• Scene rehearsal with a specialist comedy actor
• Preparing your comedic scene for filming

Day 6 - Comedy Scene Shoot + Wrap Session
Your second filmed scene, completing your two-scene showreel package.

You'll work through:

• Filming your comedic scene with an industry director
• Final shoot wrap
• Informal networking session with your group and The Reel Scene team (no coaches/crew networking claims)

This course covers a range of essential skills, including improvisation, character objectives, and scene studies. You'll master acting techniques, perform in real auditions with casting directors, and perfect your self-taping.

Learn the business of acting through agent/producer seminars, develop your headshot technique, and participate in both comedy and drama shoots led by professional film directors.

David Schaal

I play Jay’s Dad in The Inbetweeners and am an acting coach for the Reel Scene. They provide a very modern training programme for aspiring actors. All students receive a solid grounding in the Stanislavski and Meisner techniques and the courses are geared towards performance. Actors leave the one year course with some fantastic showreel material as they are filming scenes every month, as well receiving great parts in an end of year short film. The Reel Scene is a combination of British style conservatoire training with the more flexible training programmes typically found in New York and L.A. The Reel Scene’s USP is that everybody who works there is a working professional and can impart up to date knowledge which is directly transferable to the acting profession. Highly recommended.

I have recently completed the one week intensive course with the Reel Scene. It was a fantastic opportunity to get in-person experience of working with other actors. I was also given the chance to work with casting directors, professional actors, directors and other industry professionals. Working with the different directors, whom each had a different approach to scene and chartacter interpertation gave me great insight into the flexibility and adaptation required within the industry.
