Kevin McNally is an English actor best known for playing Joshamee Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean films and Horace Bryant in Downton Abbey.

His West End work includes roles opposite Maggie Smith in The Lady in the Van, Juliette Binoche in Naked, and Richard in Terry Johnson’s Dead Funny at the Savoy Theatre. On television, his career began in the 1970s with I, Claudius and Poldark, later gaining prominence through Masada, Doctor Who: The Twin Dilemma, Stalin, Chiller, Dad, Shackleton, and Life on Mars, showcasing his range across British and American productions.

McNally made his film debut in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and appeared in numerous features before achieving international recognition as Joshamee Gibbs in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) and its sequels Dead Man’s Chest (2006) and At World’s End (2007).
