I attended a 3-month Screen Acting Course at the Reel Scene. I had a very amazing experience. The course was practical, engaging, and gave me the chance to learn from experienced actors and casting directors. Their different perspectives and honest feedback helped me develop and improve my acting, character development, and confidence. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive, creating a safe and encouraging environment to grow. A special thank you to Alex and George for being so kind, approachable, and genuinely supportive of the actors. I learned so much, regained confidence in myself and my dream, and truly enjoyed every session. I would highly recommend The Reel Scene to anyone serious about acting or looking to build confidence in screen acting.

Loved. Every. Second. I came across The Reel Scene's 6-Day Intensive course when I was searching for ways to continue my training during half-term. Being based in Devon, I didn't do a taster session, I took a chance and dived right in. I am so grateful I did. Every day brought a new industry professional with a willingness to impart their knowledge and a new way of teaching. In just six days, you learn so much about the inner-workings of the industry and receive a thorough toolkit (headshots and showreel) that allows you to dive straight in. Moreover, the confidence gained over the course of the week cannot be understated. Not only do you learn from professionals, there is something to learn from the people you meet on the course. The shared vulnerability and eagerness to learn bring you closer, and the support from both peers and mentors allow you to let go of your fears and challenge yourself. To The Reel Scene team - Alex, Kristina, Josh (and those I haven't met) - thank you for the work you do. I joined the course unsure of myself and my ability, and I went home with self-belief and a fire lit within me. I can't wait to see what's next.

I attended the Week-Intensive acting course in April, and I truly enjoyed every moment and walked away having learned so much. One of the biggest highlights for me was the opportunity to work with different acting coaches who are successful working professionals, including a casting director. This variety of perspectives was incredibly valuable and really helped me develop my flexibility with character development. Also, doing lots of practical exercises really helped to level up my acting skills and build my confidence. The entire team from The Reel Scene was wonderfully supportive and helpful throughout the week. A special, big shout-out to Alex for creating such a safe, encouraging space for actors to grow. He is so incredibly nice, kind, and approachable, and his genuine care for both the craft and the actors makes all the difference. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

I had the most uplifting and life enhancing experience on the week long intensive acting course with the fabulous team at Reel Scene. I am a more mature person who has spent over 3 decades sitting in an office wanting to fulfil my dream to be an actor. I have done some courses naturally but this team at Reel Scene are a whole different and superior level of tutors and mentors. And it doesn't stop just because the course ends. Oh no. You can continue to have this marvellous resource available to you to learn as much as you can absorb! I have such admiration for Alex and his merry band of actors. It is a great model he has come up with to help us aspiring actors to get our careers on the right path, or indeed any kind of path. The course offered a pragmatic, nurturing style of tuition with many learned pearls of wisdom delivered as to how to navigate and really establish yourself in what is, a very competitive industry. And, just into the bargain I met some LOVELY fellow students who were very accommodating to this older lady. Bravo Reel Scene and you deserve all the accolades. I was on a high for at least a week after this course. It is the best thing I have done in my professional life. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

I don’t think I can fully do this school justice in a single review, but my experience has been genuinely transformative. I initially joined a taster session after going through a difficult period in my life and wanting to rebuild my confidence. The taster alone was great value for money—welcoming, engaging, and just the right level of challenge to push me out of my comfort zone. It gave me the confidence to sign up for the 9-week course. The 9-week acting course (Beginner–Intermediate) exceeded my expectations. The training combines techniques like Stanislavski and Meisner, and focuses on understanding character, intention, and truthful performance rather than just “acting.” I learned how to break down scripts, stay present in scenes, and really listen and react. The environment is supportive but honest—you’ll be challenged, and you’ll get direct, constructive feedback, but always in a way that helps you grow. The tutors explain why they give notes, which makes a huge difference in understanding both the craft and the industry. The people I met on the course made the experience even more special. There’s a real sense of community, and I’ve built friendships I genuinely value. Mark, David, Danni, Irene, and Jason are amazing tutors and I have learnt so much from all of them. I appreciate every piece of feedback and support. Thank you so much for all you have taught us. Last but not least, the online classes, self-tape challenges, and courses on the Actors Gym are absolutely fantastic—worth every penny. The online classes gave me the opportunity to continue learning from home twice a week alongside the in-person course, which really helped me stay consistent and keep building on my skills and techniques. The self-tape challenges are especially valuable. Each submission is reviewed with feedback, allowing me to track my progress and improve with every recording. It’s also great to see how others approach the same material, which adds another layer of learning and inspiration. It was also really inspiring to see people like George and Joshua, who started as students at The Reel Scene and now work with the school while also acting. It shows how the training can translate into real opportunities. There are even chances to gain industry insight, such as working or being on set with professionals like Kevin McNally, which helps bridge the gap between training and real-world experience. What started as a way to rebuild my confidence has turned into a real passion for acting, and I’m excited to continue developing further at the Reel Scene. If you’re unsure about joining—don’t be. It may push you outside your comfort zone, but that’s where the growth happens. I’d highly recommend it.

I had a really positive experience with The Reel Scene’s online course. The sessions were engaging and well-structured, and I found the feedback particularly helpful in understanding what I need to improve, especially in terms of clarity and delivery.
