Reel Scene Co-Produces and Casts The Bystanders – Now Streaming on Disney Plus

Shot across 2020–2021, The Bystanders enjoyed significant international festival success, screening and winning awards across the US, South America, Australia, Europe, and the UK. The film was picked up for distribution at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to premiere in the US at the Austin Film Festival. Following releases on Emirates and Etihad Airlines, and a successful run on Amazon Prime, we are delighted to announce that The Bystanders is now available to stream on Disney Plus.

The film is a true Reel Scene project at heart, featuring around 80 percent Reel Scene actors, predominantly graduates from our Screen Acting Year and Week Intensive programmes. Alumni were cast across a wide range of roles, from day players to prominent supporting performances, (actors like Ray Calleja, Darcey Hudson, Lucas Young) to lead roles working alongside our Reel Scene experienced coaches (David Schaal, Frank Harper, Steve North) and established industry talent like Sean Walsh and Nick Helm

The Bystanders was a passion project built to create real opportunities. For our alumni, appearing in a feature film with this level of festival recognition and global distribution is a powerful career milestone. Being credited on platforms such as Amazon Prime and now Disney Plus provides invaluable exposure and a strong foundation for moving forward in the industry.
